Our Niori designer lighting range , what we make and why

Our Niori designer lighting range is entirely own-brand. We design every piece in-house, select the materials ourselves, and produce the range through our own manufacturing partners rather than buying in third-party designer light brands. That means the design language stays consistent across pendant lights, wall lights, chandeliers, table lamps, ceiling lights and floor lamps, and the pricing reflects the maker rather than the markup attached to licensed designer names.

The range sits in the designer and luxury tier across all markets we ship to. Within that, we cover three broad registers. Modern architectural pieces use clean cylinder, disc and linear forms with brushed brass, matt black and brushed steel hardware. Decorative pieces lean on natural stone, sculpted metalwork and softer organic shapes. Feature commissions sit at the larger sculptural end, intended for entrance halls, double-height spaces and hospitality fit-outs.

Alabaster, marble and natural stone in our designer range

Alabaster is the primary shade material across much of our designer lighting catalogue. That makes natural stone the single largest material category in the range, not a side note. We work with two further natural stones alongside it: marble and travertine. Together, these three stones account for a large share of the catalogue.

The reason is the way these materials behave under light. Alabaster, particularly the gypsum alabaster used in most modern lighting work, is slightly translucent, so light passes through the stone and picks up the veining inside each block. Marble and travertine are used both as solid bases and, in thinner panels, as semi-translucent shades with deeper, more contrasting veining than alabaster. All three are real natural stone, not glass, resin or moulded synthetic substitutes. We select blocks for veining quality and hand-finish each panel so the stone's structure stays visible under the light source.

The rest of the range is built from brushed and patinated metalwork, glass and frosted glass, and crystal. Where pieces mix materials, we pair natural stone shades with brass arms and stems, or use metal frames around glass diffusers. Modern and contemporary designer lighting

Our designer lighting range includes both modern and contemporary pieces, drawn from the same design language but tuned for different registers. The modern designer lights in the range use clean cylindrical pendants, flat disc ceiling lights, linear bar pendants and minimal-arm wall lights. Hardware is reduced to its functional minimum; the materials carry the visual weight. Selvara and Vellum sit firmly in this register.

The contemporary designer lighting side of the range overlaps but stretches further. It includes sculpted multi-arm chandeliers, oversized pendant clusters, organic shaped wall lights and floor lamps with mixed-material columns. Both registers share the same finishes , brushed brass, matt black, soft white, patinated bronze , so a modern alabaster pendant in a kitchen can sit naturally alongside a more contemporary chandelier in an adjoining dining room without breaking the look across rooms.

Our designer pendant lighting range is the largest single bucket and covers single pendants, linear bar pendants and multi-pendant clusters for dining tables, kitchen islands and stairwells. Our designer wall lights range, known in the US as designer wall sconces, covers bedside, hallway, vanity and feature wall applications. Our designer chandeliers range covers tiered, linear and sculptural chandeliers for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height spaces.

Our designer table lamps range covers bedside, console and sideboard lamps, with bases in natural stone, ceramic and metalwork. Our designer ceiling lights range covers semi-flush and flush mount fixtures for lower-ceiling rooms, kitchens and bathrooms. Our designer floor lamps range covers reading-corner floor lamps, arched floor lamps and feature column lamps.

How to care for designer light fixtures

Care depends on the material. We include written care instructions with every piece, and the general guidance below covers the main material groups in the range.

For alabaster, marble and travertine shades, dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For light marks, use a soft cloth dampened with plain water. Avoid soap, alcohol-based cleaners, glass sprays and abrasive cloths; these can erode the stone's natural finish. For deeper marks, a small amount of pH-neutral stone cleaner removes residue without affecting the surface. Rinse with a damp cloth and dry fully. Keep natural-stone fixtures out of zones with regular steam or splash contact.

For glass and frosted-glass designer light fixtures, a soft cloth with plain water or a mild glass cleaner is sufficient. Dry fully to avoid water spotting. For brushed brass, matt black and brushed steel metalwork, dust with a dry cloth; avoid metal polishes, which can strip the brushed or patinated finish. For crystal, dust with a soft brush or microfibre cloth, and clean occasional marks with a soft cloth dampened with plain water.
