Description
The Auravel is an 800mm diameter tiered chandelier built from four descending rings of vertical alabaster panels, suspended from a matte black metal frame. Twenty E14 lamps (sold separately) sit inside the structure and light the stone from within, with the largest tier at the top stepping down through three further tiers to a smaller central cluster at the base. Overall fitting height is 550mm, plus the adjustable rod and ceiling cup at the top.
Designed for rooms with high ceilings, the Auravel suits double-height entrance halls, stairwells, formal dining rooms above a long table, and open-plan living areas where a wider light fitting can anchor the space. The 800mm diameter and 550mm drop are substantial, so a minimum ceiling height of around 2.7m is sensible, with 3m or more giving the tiered silhouette room to read properly. The matte black frame fits standard UK ceiling roses.
Each alabaster panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, with veining, mineral inclusions and tonal variation that differ between individual pieces. When the lamps are off the panels read as a soft creamy white against the black frame; when lit, the stone glows from within and the veining becomes visible across the tiers. Stainless steel structural components hold each row of panels in line, and the matte black finish on the outer ring and rod absorbs reflections so the alabaster remains the dominant visual element.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Auravel take?
The chandelier accepts twenty E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair the fitting with warm-white LED candle bulbs around 2700K-3000K to complement the natural cream tone of the alabaster.
What ceiling height is needed?
The fitting is 550mm tall before the suspension rod, with an 800mm diameter. A minimum ceiling height of around 2.7m is sensible, and 3m or more allows the four-tier silhouette to read clearly. Above a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 750-900mm above the table surface.
Is each alabaster panel different?
Yes. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral patterns and translucency vary between pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and becomes most visible when the chandelier is lit.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Dust the panels gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth or a soft-bristle brush. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can mark or etch the stone.
