Description

The Solaryn is a 1200mm linear suspension light built around two parallel rows of circular alabaster discs aligned along a brass-finished horizontal bar. Each disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster in a soft white tone, fixed to the central spine with small brass pins. An integrated LED concealed within the structure casts warm 3000K light through the stone, with the alabaster itself acting as the diffuser across the full length of the fitting.

Designed primarily for dining tables, kitchen islands and long console runs, the linear format suits rectangular surfaces of around 1.4m to 2m in length. The fitting suspends from a rectangular brass ceiling plate via two chains and slim drop rods, giving an overall maximum height of 800mm that can be shortened on installation. Mounting at 700-800mm above a table or worktop keeps the light at a comfortable level for diners while clearing sightlines across the room.

The alabaster discs vary subtly in veining and translucency from one to the next, a characteristic of the natural stone rather than a manufacturing inconsistency. When lit, denser sections of stone glow more softly than thinner areas, producing a layered effect along the length of the fitting. Stainless steel structural components hold the discs in precise alignment, while the warm brass finish on the bar, drops, chains and ceiling plate ties the metalwork into a single tone against the pale stone.

What table or island length does the Solaryn suit?

The fitting measures 1200mm along its main bar. As a general guide, a linear suspension works best when it is roughly two thirds the length of the surface below, so the Solaryn pairs well with dining tables or kitchen islands of approximately 1.6m to 2m in length.

Is the drop adjustable?

Yes. The total height of 800mm is the maximum supplied. The chains and drop rods can be shortened during installation to suit the ceiling height, with the typical hanging position being 700-800mm above a table or worktop surface.

Does each alabaster disc look identical?

No. Every disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining patterns, mineral density and translucency vary subtly between pieces. Once lit, this gives the fitting a layered glow rather than a uniform panel of light.

Is a separate driver needed?
