Description
The Solyra is an 800mm-diameter, 750mm-tall chandelier built from four descending tiers of natural Spanish alabaster petals fixed to a brushed brass frame. Twenty-one E14 lamps sit inside the structure (sold separately), with the alabaster petals acting as the diffuser. Each petal is cut as a flat oval disc and pinned to the brass arms with small brass studs, leaving the edges visible so light escapes between the overlapping rings as well as through the stone itself.
Designed for double-height entrance halls, large dining rooms, stairwell voids and open-plan living spaces, the Solyra suits ceilings of 3m or more where its 750mm drop and wide diameter can be appreciated in full. The chain suspension is adjustable on installation, allowing the chandelier to be hung 700-900mm above a dining table or set higher in a hallway as a sculptural ceiling fixture. Twenty-one lamps produce substantial ambient output across a room of 25-40m².
Every petal is cut from a single block of Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral density and translucency vary across the fitting. Denser petals show more pronounced grey-brown veining when lit, while clearer sections glow almost uniformly white. The brushed brass frame holds the four tiers in concentric rings, narrowing from the top tier down to the base, which gives the piece a stepped silhouette rather than a flat dome. The brushed finish keeps reflections soft and pairs the brass with the warm tones in the stone.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Solyra take?
The chandelier takes 21 E14 (small Edison screw) lamps, sold separately. Most buyers fit warm white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to keep the alabaster glowing in a soft warm tone without overheating the fitting.
What ceiling height is needed?
With a 750mm drop and 800mm diameter, the Solyra is designed for ceilings of 3m or higher. Above a dining table, the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface; in a hallway or stairwell void it can be set higher to act as a sculptural ceiling piece. The chain length is adjustable on installation.
Why does the alabaster look different on each petal?
Each petal is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral density and translucency differ from one piece to the next. Denser sections show more visible grey-brown veining when lit; clearer sections diffuse light more evenly. This natural variation is a feature of the stone, not a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Dust gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, all of which can mark or stain the surface. For taller installations, a long-handled feather duster used periodically is usually sufficient.
