Description
The Auriel is a 19-light alabaster chandelier built from nineteen 150mm spherical shades, each cut from natural Spanish alabaster and suspended on slim black cables from twin matt black ceiling canopies. The shades cluster into a single cloud-like formation 850mm across at the base, while the suspension above splits into two stacked canopies that give the fitting a total height of 1500mm. Each shade houses a G9 lamp holder, with all nineteen lamps lighting the alabaster from within.
The chandelier is intended for double-height spaces and rooms with substantial ceiling drop: stairwell voids, vaulted living rooms, hotel lobbies, restaurant bars and dining rooms with ceilings of 3m or more. The two-canopy suspension allows the cable bundle to be split and visually broken up over a long drop, rather than running as a single uninterrupted column. Mounted over a dining table, the cluster provides downward pooled light from each globe; in a stairwell void, it reads as a sculptural form viewed from multiple floors.
Each alabaster sphere shows different mineral veining and tonal variation, with some shades carrying warm amber inclusions and others showing cooler grey-white marbling. The contrast between the milky alabaster and the matt black cables, canopies and lamp fittings is the defining visual feature: the dark suspension recedes against pale ceilings while framing the cluster of lit globes below. With nineteen individual lamps the Auriel produces a soft, multi-source ambient light rather than a single concentrated beam.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Auriel take?
The chandelier takes 19 x G9 capsule lamps, one inside each alabaster sphere. G9 LED capsules are recommended over halogen for lower heat and longer life. Bulbs are sold separately. For warm ambient light, pair with 2700K-3000K G9 LEDs around 2-3W each.
What ceiling height is needed?
The Auriel is 1500mm tall in its standard configuration, designed for ceilings of 3m and above. The two-canopy suspension can be adjusted on installation to suit the available drop, and the cable lengths can be shortened where the full height is not required.
Does the alabaster vary between shades?
Yes. Each of the nineteen spheres is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral inclusions and translucency differ between individual shades. Some show warm amber threads while others present cooler grey-white marbling. This variation is part of the natural stone and is not a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe each sphere gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone surface.
