Description

The Auravel is a 600mm-diameter tiered chandelier built from four descending rings of vertically hung alabaster panels, suspended from a matte black metal frame and ceiling rod. Sixteen E14 lamps (sold separately) sit behind the stone, with the panels arranged in stepped tiers that reduce in diameter towards the base. Overall fitting height is 550mm, plus the rod and ceiling cup above.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells, formal dining rooms and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Auravel works as the primary decorative light source over a large dining table or in the central well of a stairwell. The 600mm diameter suits tables roughly 1.4-1.8m long, hung 700-800mm above the table surface. The matte black rod and ceiling cup keep the suspension visually quiet, letting the alabaster do the work.

Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster and shows its own veining, density and translucency, so the cascade of stone reads as a field of related but individually different pieces rather than a uniform pattern. Stainless steel structural components hold the panels at consistent spacing around each tier. When lit, the warm glow passes through the stone and softens against the matte black ring frames, producing layered light and shadow across the stepped form.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Auravel takes 16 x E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, which are sold separately. Most owners pair it with warm-white 2700K-3000K LED candle bulbs at 4-6W each to match the warm tone of the alabaster.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is mains-wired and does not have its own dimmer. Dimmability depends on the bulbs you fit and the dimmer switch in the circuit. If you want dimming, choose dimmable LED E14 bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer.

What ceiling height does it suit?

With a 550mm fitting height plus the rod and ceiling cup, the Auravel is best in rooms with ceilings of 2.7m or higher. Over a dining table it typically hangs 700-800mm above the table surface; in a stairwell it can drop further to sit at the upper-floor eyeline.

Does each alabaster panel look the same?

No. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral density and translucency vary between pieces. The variation is part of the material and not a fault.
