Description

The Strata is a 600mm circular ring chandelier built from natural Spanish alabaster panels held within a stainless steel frame finished in copper. Vertical copper bands divide the ring into segments, while the inner and outer faces of the structure are polished to a mirror copper finish. An integrated LED concealed inside the ring runs at 3000K on 230V mains, lighting the alabaster from within so the stone itself becomes the diffuser.

Designed for dining rooms, kitchen islands, entrance halls and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.6m or higher, the Strata suspends from four fine cables fixed to a circular copper canopy. The cables can be shortened on installation to set the ring at the desired drop, typically 700-800mm above a dining table or 800-900mm above a kitchen island. At 85mm tall and 600mm wide, the proportions sit comfortably above smaller four-to-six-seat tables without dominating the room.

Each alabaster panel is cut from natural stone, so the veining, mineral patterning and translucency vary between sections of the ring and between individual chandeliers. The vertical copper banding holds the panels in place and adds a rhythmic structural detail when the ring is unlit, while the polished copper inner band reflects warm light downward onto the surface below. The combination of pale stone and warm metal pairs with both contemporary and traditional interiors.
