Choosing lighting by finish

Finish sets the tone of a room before a single bulb is switched on. It ties your lighting to the metals, woods and textures already in the space, so the whole scheme reads as one thought rather than a set of separate purchases. Brass and antique brass ranges

Brass is our broadest finish, and it spans nearly every fitting type. For fixed lighting overhead, Brass Ceiling Lights and Brass Flush Ceiling Lights are the places to start, with the flush range holding profiles that sit close to the ceiling for rooms with lower headroom. If you want a wider spread of light across a dining or living room, Brass Chandeliers and Brass Pendant Lights carry the bulk of our hanging options, many of them pairing metal with glass. For lamps and wall-mounted light, Brass Table Lamps suit bedside and living room use, while Brass Wall Lights lean towards smaller widths and are well represented in hallways and bedrooms.

If you prefer a softer, aged look over a bright polished tone, Antique Brass Wall Lights offer a warmer sheen. Gold ranges

Gold reads warmer and more decorative than brass, and our gold ranges concentrate on the fittings that carry a room. Gold Pendant Lights give you a lighter option for kitchens and dining rooms, with plenty of single-light designs in smaller sizes for spots where a full chandelier would be too much. Black ranges

Black is the finish to reach for when you want your lighting to stand against pale walls or sit within a modern scheme. Black Pendant Lights are our largest black range and a natural fit for kitchens and dining rooms, where single-light designs work well over islands and tables. Chrome and silver ranges

For a cooler, reflective finish, Chrome Pendant Lights and Silver Chandeliers are the two ranges to consider. Chrome Pendant Lights carry a polished sheen and a modern feel, with many pairing metal and glass for dining and living rooms. Silver Chandeliers bring the same cool tone to larger, wider fittings, again mostly modern and suited to dining and living spaces. Wooden ranges

Wood brings warmth and an earthy, natural note that suits relaxed and modern rooms alike. For overhead lighting, Wooden Ceiling Lights lean modern with many integrated-LED and warm-white options for living rooms and bedrooms, while Wooden Pendant Lights suit kitchens and dining rooms, mostly in brown tones with single-light designs.
