Description

The Hollow is a 500mm diameter pendant light built around a shallow dome of blown and acid-etched white glass, suspended from a satin nickel ceiling rose on three adjustable steel cables. Three E27 bulb fittings sit inside the glass dome, casting light through the etched surface to produce soft, diffused ambient illumination without glare or visible hotspots.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room focal points, the 500mm diameter suits spaces 3-4m wide and ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The adjustable cable drop allows the pendant to be set between 600-1000mm from the ceiling depending on the room height and desired hanging position. The shallow 200mm dome profile keeps the fitting compact enough for standard residential ceiling heights while providing enough internal volume to house three standard bulbs.

The acid-etched finish on the blown glass creates a translucent white surface that hides the bulbs and electrical components from view while allowing light to pass through evenly. The satin nickel canopy and cable suspension give the fitting a neutral metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool interior tones. The three-bulb configuration provides enough combined output to serve as primary lighting in a 12-15m² room when fitted with LED bulbs in the 8-10W range.

The adjustable cable drop suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For a dining table or kitchen island, the pendant typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface. The 200mm dome height is compact enough for standard residential ceilings.

Can the cables be shortened after installation?

Yes. The steel cables are adjustable during installation and any excess cable can be coiled inside the ceiling canopy. Once set, the drop is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and the cables re-adjusted.
