Sapphire 4 Light Flush Ceiling Light - Clear Glass Chrome

The Sapphire is a 500mm flush ceiling light with a circular textured clear glass diffuser plate mounted on a chrome metal base. The glass surface is smooth on the outside but treated with fine grit on the inside, creating a textured finish that softens and diffuses light from the four E27 bulbs beneath without blocking brightness entirely. The chrome centre boss holds the fitting to the ceiling and provides the electrical connection point.

Designed for rooms with low ceilings or ceiling heights below 2.4m where pendant lights would hang too low, the Sapphire sits close to the ceiling with minimal projection while the 500mm diameter spreads light across a 12-16m² area. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways and landing areas where general illumination is needed without intrusive fittings. The clear glass design keeps the visual weight light and allows the ceiling to remain the dominant plane in the room.

The textured grit treatment on the underside of the glass creates a subtle ripple effect when the bulbs are lit, breaking up hard shadows from the four individual E27 sources and creating a more even wash of light across the ceiling and walls. The glass plate is a single moulded piece, so there are no visible seams or joints. The chrome finish on the metal base coordinates with polished or brushed chrome door furniture, taps and radiator valves without requiring an exact match.

The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable E27 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness for tasks to low ambient light for evenings. Four E27 bulbs are required (sold separately) — most users fit 8-10W LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K for a warm white output totalling 3,200-4,000 lumens across the four sources.
