Description

The Solum is an 8-light chandelier with a chrome-plated metal frame spanning 760mm diameter, carrying eight grey organza lampshades paired with cut crystal droplets and faceted detailing. Each arm holds an E14 bulb fitting behind its organza shade, with crystal elements positioned at the joints and centre body to catch and refract light across the room.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Solum combines ambient lighting function with decorative presence. The 390mm overall height suits ceilings where a compact chandelier is needed without losing visual impact, and the eight bulbs provide sufficient output for spaces of 16-25 square metres. The organza shades diffuse the light from each bulb into a soft warm glow, while the crystal accents create sparkle and depth when the chandelier is lit.

The chrome frame gives a polished reflective finish that pairs with contemporary and transitional interiors, while the grey organza introduces a neutral tonal layer that softens the metallic brightness. The fabric shades are removable for cleaning or replacement, and the crystal elements are secured with metal pins at each joint. The chandelier is dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing control over light intensity for different times of day or occasions.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does it take?

The chandelier takes eight E14 candle bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or living room lighting. The chandelier is dimmable when using dimmable E14 bulbs with a compatible dimmer switch.

What room size does it suit?

The 760mm diameter and eight-bulb output suit rooms of 16-25 square metres, typically dining rooms, living rooms or entrance halls. The relatively compact 390mm height makes it suitable for ceilings around 2.7m high without overwhelming the space.

Can the organza shades be cleaned or replaced?

Yes. The grey organza shades are removable for cleaning. Dust them gently with a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush. If replacement is needed, contact Ideal Lux or an authorised Ideal Lux retailer for matching fabric shades.

What's the IP rating and where can it be installed?

The chandelier carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is designed for dry interior use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor areas or any location where moisture or splashing may occur.
