Description

The Orlix is a 33cm flush ceiling light with a white blown glass diffuser mounted on a metal base plate using a screwless fixing system. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and sits close to the ceiling surface, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and landings, the Orlix works as primary ambient lighting in spaces up to 12-15m². The blown glass diffuser spreads light evenly across the ceiling plane rather than directing it downward, reducing harsh shadows and giving softer general illumination. The fitting can also be mounted on a wall as a large wall light where a traditional sconce would be too small, such as either side of a wide headboard or flanking an entrance door.

The screwless glass fixing allows the diffuser to be removed for bulb changes without needing a screwdriver — the glass lifts off once the metal retention ring is rotated anticlockwise. The white finish on the glass is achieved through a blown-glass process that gives a translucent milky appearance when lit, hiding the bulb shape while allowing most of the light output through. The metal base is finished in white powder coat to match the glass.

Is the Orlix dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible, but the bulb you choose must also be rated as dimmable.

What bulb does it take?

The Orlix takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 10-15W LED bulb at 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light suitable for living spaces and bedrooms.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor locations only. For bathroom use, look for fittings rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone.

How is the glass removed for bulb changes?

The glass diffuser uses a screwless fixing system. Rotate the metal retention ring anticlockwise to release the glass, change the bulb, then replace the glass and rotate the ring clockwise to lock it back in place.
