Description

The Seraphic is a 2 light industrial floor lamp from Ideal Lux, built around a polished chrome vertical column with two independently adjustable black enamelled metal shades. Each shade houses an E27 bulb fitting (sold separately) and can be rotated and angled on its chrome arm to direct light where needed. The circular black base is 220mm diameter and weighted to stabilise the lamp without requiring wall fixing.

Designed for reading positions, home offices and living rooms needing multiple points of directed task light, the Seraphic allows both shades to be angled towards different areas — one down onto a desk surface, one across to a reading chair, or both towards a central workspace. The chrome arms extend and pivot at brass-bushed joints, holding position once set. The IP20 rating confirms indoor use only, suitable for dry residential and office environments.

The black enamelled finish on the shades is a low-sheen powder coat that resists fingerprints and pairs with industrial, mid-century modern and contemporary interiors. The polished chrome column and arms provide high-contrast detailing against the matt black, catching ambient light and adding visual interest when the lamp is not in use. What bulbs does it take?

The Seraphic takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for task lighting. Maximum wattage per bulb is typically 60W equivalent.

Can both shades be adjusted independently?

Yes. Each shade is mounted on its own chrome arm with a pivot joint, allowing independent rotation and angle adjustment. Both shades can be directed to different areas or angled to converge on a single workspace.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable, but dimming can be achieved by fitting dimmable LED bulbs and using a compatible plug-in dimmer between the lamp and the mains socket.

How stable is the base on carpets?

The 220mm circular base is weighted for stability on bare floors and short-pile carpets. On thick or shag-pile carpets the base may benefit from a rigid mat underneath to prevent tilting when the shades are adjusted.
