Description

The Hollow is a 50cm diameter flush ceiling and wall light housing three E27 bulb fittings behind a single blown and acid-etched white glass diffuser. The circular glass sits against a white-painted metal frame finished in satin nickel trim, giving the fitting a low 100mm projection from the wall or ceiling once installed. The acid-etched finish on the glass turns each bulb into a soft, diffused glow rather than a visible point source.

Designed for dual-mount installation, the Hollow can be fixed directly to a ceiling as a flush light in rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low, or mounted vertically on a wall in hallways, landings and bathrooms (IP20 rated for Zone 3 or outside bathroom zones). The three E27 fittings accept standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose the colour temperature and wattage that suits the room. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.

The 50cm diameter provides enough coverage for rooms between 10-15m² without overwhelming the space. The white glass and white-painted frame give a neutral appearance that pairs with both cool and warm interiors, while the satin nickel trim around the edge adds a subtle metallic accent. No. The Hollow takes three standard E27 bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for general ambient lighting.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for bathroom Zone 3 (areas more than 600mm from a bath or shower) or outside bathroom zones entirely. It is not rated for direct exposure to moisture in Zones 1 or 2.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming but requires dimmable bulbs to function.

What size room does the 50cm diameter suit?

The 50cm diameter and three-bulb configuration suit rooms between 10-15m², such as small bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and landings. Larger rooms may benefit from multiple fittings or a larger diameter light.
