Everyday Eveready bulbs and batteries we keep on the shelf

Eveready is the name most of us reach for when something stops working and needs replacing the same week. Our Eveready range follows that logic. It is built around the lamps and cells that homes run through quickly: golf ball and GLS bulbs for general rooms, candle bulbs for wall fittings and chandeliers, plus household batteries in the common sizes. Rather than chasing a particular look, the idea here is a dependable swap for the fitting you already own.

Bulb shapes and caps to match what you already have

The quickest way to get the right replacement is to match the shape and the cap. We stock Eveready in golf ball, GLS and candle forms, with bayonet B22 caps alongside screw E27 and E14 caps, and a few B15 and GU10 lamps. Golf ball and candle bulbs suit smaller pendants, wall lights and decorative fittings, GLS bulbs cover general ceiling and lamp use, and GU10 lamps drop into recessed and track spotlights. Check the cap stamped on your old bulb, then match the shape, and the swap is usually straightforward.

Colour temperature and brightness without the guesswork

Eveready bulbs run from warm white at 2700K and 3000K through to daylight at 6500K, with a few in cool white at 4000K. Warm white keeps living rooms and bedrooms relaxed, while daylight reads cleaner in kitchens, utility spaces and work corners. Brightness is given in lumens rather than old watts, so a 470lm bulb sits around the old 40W feel and an 806lm bulb nearer 60W. Many of these are filament LED, giving the traditional filament look in a low-energy lamp. Most are non-dimmable, so pair them with a standard switch rather than a dimmer.

The specialist replacements that are easy to forget

Beyond the standard rooms, the Eveready range covers the odd jobs that catch people out. There are fridge bulbs in E14, SES and B15 SBC caps for appliances, Fireglow red incandescent bulbs for that glowing effect, infrared heater bulbs, and fluorescent tubes and starters for older strip fittings. In the cupboard, we also keep a hybrid powered collapsible lantern, so the practical end of the range is covered as well as the everyday bulbs.

Batteries in the sizes households actually run out of

The same everyday thinking runs through the battery side. We stock Eveready Super Zinc Heavy Duty cells in AA, AAA, C and D sizes, plus 9V and larger 4R25 6V types for torches and lanterns. These are the sizes that disappear from the drawer first, so keeping a couple of packs in reserve saves a trip when a remote, clock or torch goes flat. If you are restocking bulbs, it is worth adding a pack of batteries to the same order.
