Description

This is a candle-shaped LED bulb on an E14 small screw cap, drawing 7.3W and giving 806 lumens of warm white light at 3000K. The body is a smooth opal-white dome over a white collar, so the lit lamp reads as one soft shape rather than a cluster of bright diodes. The pack rates it as the equal of a 60W conventional candle, so it is meant as a direct replacement for an older filament candle rather than a dim decorative lamp. Running voltage is 220-240V, and the pack prints a lamp life of 10 years or 10,000 hours, with more than 10,000 on and off switching cycles.

Candle bulbs earn their keep where the bulb itself is on show: chandeliers, multi-arm ceiling fittings, wall lights, candelabra table lamps and small pendants with clip-on shades. The 280 degree beam spreads light almost all the way round the lamp rather than forward in a cone, so a five-arm fitting lights the room evenly instead of pooling on the ceiling. It will if the holder is E14, also written SES, which has a screw thread of roughly 14mm. Take the old bulb out and compare: a thread nearer 27mm is E27 and this lamp will not fit it.
