B22 (BC) LED Filament Golf Bulb 4W 470lm - Warm White 2700K - Eveready

This is a golf ball bulb with a B22 bayonet cap, the push and twist fitting with two pins that is the most common cap on British light fittings. It draws 4W and gives 470 lumens at 2,700K, which the pack rates as the equal of a 40W conventional bulb. Four LED filaments run the height of a clear glass sphere, so the light source itself is part of the look rather than something to be hidden behind a shade. The golf ball envelope measures 45mm across at its widest point, as printed on the box.

Golf ball bulbs earn their place where a standard GLS shape would look oversized or simply will not fit: multi arm pendants, small wall lights, bedside lamps, and shades with a narrow opening. Will this fit my bayonet lampholder?

It takes a B22 bayonet cap, the 22mm two pin push and twist fitting. Pull your old bulb out and check it has two small pins on the side of a smooth metal cap rather than a screw thread.

Can I use it on a dimmer switch?

No. The specification gives it as non dimmable, so run it from an ordinary on and off switch. Fitting a non dimmable lamp to a dimmer circuit can cause flicker, buzzing or early failure.

How bright is 4W against an old bulb?

It produces 470 lumens, and the pack gives that as the equal of a 40W conventional bulb. Lumens are the figure to compare on, because watts now only tell you how much power the lamp draws.

What does 2,700K warm white look like in a room?

It is a soft yellow toned white, the tone people remember from traditional filament lamps. It suits living rooms and bedrooms, and reads much warmer than a 4000K or 6500K bulb.
