Description

The Eveready 2-in-1 is a 300-lumen collapsible lantern with hybrid power options: either USB-rechargeable via the built-in battery or powered by three AA batteries (sold separately). The unit collapses to a compact 89mm × 91mm × 99mm block when closed, expanding to 194mm height when pulled open into lantern mode. A directional torch at the top provides focused white light, while the collapsible body houses the area lantern with red flash and red SOS modes.

Designed for camping, power cuts, workshop use and vehicle emergency kits, the lantern switches between modes via a single push-button. Pull the unit open to activate the 360-degree area light around the body. Press the top button once for the directional white torch, twice for red flash, three times for red SOS signalling. The collapsible design means the lantern fits into a glove box, toolkit or rucksack side pocket when not in use, then expands when needed.

The base of the unit carries a built-in magnet and a fold-out metal hook, allowing the lantern to attach to vehicle bonnets, metal shelving, overhead tent frames or workshop beams for hands-free positioning. Side latches lock the collapsed body shut, preventing accidental activation during transport. The hybrid power system means the lantern can run on its rechargeable battery when USB power is available (charge time approximately 3-4 hours via standard USB-A cable, included), or switch to disposable AA batteries when off-grid or as backup.

Does the lantern come with batteries or a charging cable?

The USB-A charging cable is included. AA batteries are not included and must be purchased separately if you intend to use the battery-power mode.

How long does the rechargeable battery last on a full charge?

Runtime depends on which mode is active. Area lantern mode typically provides 6-8 hours on a full charge, while the directional torch mode draws more power and runs for approximately 3-4 hours. Red flash and SOS modes extend runtime significantly.

Can the lantern be used while charging?

Yes. The lantern can operate in any light mode while connected to USB power, allowing it to function as a mains-powered lantern when plugged into a USB adapter or power bank.

What is the magnet strength on the base?

The magnet holds the 360g lantern securely to steel surfaces such as vehicle bonnets, metal shelving and toolboxes. It will not attach to aluminium, stainless steel or non-ferrous metals.
