Description

An R50 is a small reflector lamp, and this one puts a 4.9W LED behind a 50mm domed front. The shape does the work: the tapered sides push light forward instead of letting it spill sideways, so a fitting gives a defined pool rather than a general glow. Output is 450 lumens at 3000K, a warm white with a soft yellow cast rather than the blue edge of a daylight lamp, and the pack rates it as the equal of a 40W conventional bulb. The cap is E14, the small Edison screw also written SES.

These bulbs sit in the fittings nobody thinks about until one goes: small spotlight bars over a worktop, display cabinets, cooker hoods, plinth and shelf lights, picture lights and older track systems.
