Creative Collection bowls, plates, mugs and cups

Stoneware makes up most of what we stock from Creative Collection, and it starts at the table: bowls for soup and cereal, plates for lunch and supper, mugs and cups for tea and coffee, and serving platters for a dish set in the centre to share. A few jugs, teapots and storage jars sit alongside them, for a pot of tea at the weekend or milk on the breakfast tray.

Some pieces come in sets of two, three or four, so a table for two or four can be laid in one go. Capacities, where given, run from 17ml to 3,325ml.

Reactive glaze and hand painting on Creative Collection pieces

Reactive glaze and hand painting feature in the range, and some pieces are woven. By its nature, reactive glaze can vary noticeably in colour from one item to the next, so two of the same piece may not match exactly.

The colours take in blue, green, brown, yellow, rose and white, alongside multicoloured designs. If you are building up a table over time, mixing blues and greens is an easy way to welcome the variation that reactive glaze brings rather than fight it.

Creative Collection vases, candle holders, planters and throws

Away from the table, the range holds vases, candle holders and planters, with throws for the arm of the sofa or the foot of the bed. Glass, wood, metal and cotton join the stoneware. A few cushions, table lamps and floor lamps sit in the range too, as do a few pieces of furniture, such as cabinets, console tables and side tables.

Spread through the house, the pieces sit easily together: a vase of stems on the windowsill, a pair of candle holders on the dining table, a planter in a bright corner of the living room. Diameters run from 5cm to 70cm across and heights from 1.5cm to 172cm, so measure the shelf or corner you have in mind and check the measurements on the product page.

Caring for Creative Collection pieces

Care differs from piece to piece, so check the care rows on each product page before anything goes in the dishwasher, microwave or oven. Across the whole range, just over half is marked food safe and nearly half dishwasher safe, while more than a third is marked microwave safe and more than a third oven safe. Some pieces are marked as not suitable for the dishwasher, the microwave or the oven, and a few are marked not food safe; keep those for display rather than food.
