Description

Winnie is a set of four stoneware mugs, each holding 370ml, which puts them firmly in mug territory rather than small coffee cup size. Each one is 9cm across and 10cm tall, with a rounded body that narrows gently towards the rim and a looped handle. The glaze is what sets them apart: a deep, glossy green at the top that breaks into a dense speckle over the lower half and carries on into the handle. Stoneware is a sturdy, hard-wearing clay that holds heat well.

At 370ml there is room for a large tea, a milky coffee or a hot chocolate on a cold evening. Four matching mugs cover a household's morning round or a small table of guests at the weekend, and they look as much at home on an open kitchen shelf as on a desk through the working day.
