Description
Our Perla magazine rack is a single open frame of bent rattan, shaped like a tall rounded arch when you face it and narrowing to a peak when you look at it from the side. It measures 42cm long, 30cm wide and 45cm tall, a size suited to standing on the floor beside a chair or sofa rather than on a table. Magazines, newspapers and books rest on its base between two slatted sides, which lean together towards the top so a stack sits neatly between them. It is made entirely of rattan in a natural colour and weighs 0.656KG.
Because it weighs so little, it moves easily wherever the reading happens: next to an armchair in the living room, by the bed for books in progress, or in a study or guest room for papers and catalogues. It suits anyone who likes a few titles within reach but would rather keep the coffee table clear, and the open sides show what is inside at a glance. At 30cm wide it tucks neatly beside a side table or into the corner of a room, and the 45cm height puts everything in easy reach from a seat.
The frame is built from thick rattan poles bent into curves, with thinner rods forming the slatted sides. Every joint is lashed with thin strips of rattan in neat crossed bindings, and the top of the arch is wrapped in a band of the same, a natural place to take hold of it. Two short rattan rails run beneath the base and raise it a little off the floor. Rattan is a light, springy cane whose grain and tone vary naturally, so each frame has its own character. For a relaxed look, set it on a woven rug beside a wooden stool or side table and keep a few favourite books on show.

Frequently Asked
What is the Perla magazine rack made of?
It is made of 100% rattan, from the bent poles of the frame to the thin strips that bind every joint, in a natural colour.
How big is the magazine rack?
It measures 42cm long, 30cm wide and 45cm tall, so it stands on the floor beside a chair or sofa rather than on a shelf or table.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 0.656KG, so it is easy to lift and move from the living room to the bedroom whenever needed.
What will it hold?
It is shaped for magazines, newspapers, catalogues and books, which rest on the base between its two slatted sides as a neat upright stack.
Is every rack exactly the same colour?
It comes in a natural colour, but rattan is a natural cane whose grain and tone vary, so each frame has slight differences of its own.
