These are two stoneware cups, each painted by hand with a little floral still life, so the pair arrives as a matched couple rather than identical twins. One cup carries a posy in a striped pot, the other a sprig of flowers in a rounded vase, and each has a contrasting handle and a painted band around its foot. The body is round and full, with a softly uneven rim, and each cup holds 320ml, which places it between a tea cup and a mug: room for a morning coffee without the height of a tall mug.
