A good part of the range uses real natural alabaster, with a further group in marble. These are pieces where the material itself is the design feature: light passes through alabaster rather than bouncing off it, picking up the natural veining inside each block and producing a soft glow that varies subtly between pieces. Marble blocks most light, so the stone usually forms the base with the shade in fabric or glass above. Small and compact bedside lamps

Small bedside lamps are the most-searched use-case in the UK, and a meaningful share of our range is sized for nightstands with limited surface area. We classify a lamp as compact when its footprint sits under 20cm diameter and total height stays under 35cm, leaving room for a book, glass of water and phone. Most use E14 fittings or integrated LED to keep the shade compact. At the other end, tall bedside lamps (45-65cm) suit larger bedrooms with deeper nightstands, lower beds, or rooms where the lamp doubles as ambient lighting; these typically use E27 fittings and larger fabric or alabaster shades.

Bedside reading lamps for late-night reading

For late-night reading, position matters as much as the lamp itself. A good bedside reading lamp puts the bulb level with your shoulder when sitting up in bed, with the lower edge of the shade just above eye level so light falls onto the page without glare. Bedside lamps vs nightstand lamps: UK and US terminology

The same fixture has different names in different markets. In the UK, the standard term is bedside lamps or bedside table lamps, with bedside light as a synonym. In the US, the same products are searched as nightstand lamps or nightstand lamp; the term refers to the same piece of furniture (the small table next to the bed) and the same lighting product. How to care for our bedside lamps

Care varies by material. For alabaster and marble, dust with a dry microfibre cloth; for marks, use a soft cloth dampened with plain water and avoid soap, alcohol-based cleaners or abrasive products. For fabric shades, vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment on low suction; spot-clean light marks with a damp cloth. For glass and crystal shades, a soft cloth with glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth keeps the surface clear. For ceramic and metal bases, a dry microfibre cloth is enough. When replacing bulbs, switch off at the wall and let the bulb cool first. Most modern bedside lamps are rated for LED bulbs up to 7-10W. We include care instructions with every piece.
