Description

Yep is a table lamp in green. A tapered dark green dome head, narrow at the crown and widening to an open rim, hung off a bright pivot from a straight upright post so it tips down at an angle. The inside of the dome is lined in white and shows as a bright wedge from where you sit. The post is a plain round tube in the same green, rising from a low round disc base with a softly rounded edge. A black flex loops over the top of the post and drops behind it, on show rather than hidden. The pivot is the only bright metal on the lamp. It measures 10cm across and 37cm tall.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one. There is an inline foot switch on the flex, so it is reached at the fitting rather than by following the flex down.

The holder is E14 and takes up to 25W. It plugs into an ordinary socket, so it needs no electrician. It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

Which bulb does it take?

An E14 lamp up to 40W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Does it need an electrician?

No. It comes on a flex with a moulded plug and goes into an ordinary socket.

Where is the switch?

There is inline foot switch on the flex.

Does it need an earth?

No. It is class II, double insulated, so it is wired live and neutral only.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
