Description

Fix is a table lamp in black. A slim flexible arm rising in a long curve from a broad cone base, carrying a flat oval head with a bright metal top and a lit panel on its underside. The arm is matt black and bends anywhere along its length, so the head can be pushed about and stays where it is put. The base is a wide shallow cone in a warm gunmetal with a faint sheen, and a single round touch control is set into its slope. The head is a thin blade rather than a shade, with no bulb visible. The cone is broad enough to hold the arm steady at full reach.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one.

The LED is built in at 4W, so there is no bulb to buy and none to fit. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms. It carries a G energy label.

Do I need to buy a bulb?

No. The LED is built into the fitting, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to fit.

What happens when the LED fails?

The fitting is replaced rather than relamped. At 4W and normal domestic use that is many years away.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
