Description

Bubbles is a table lamp in smoke. A large smoked glass ball standing upright in a low black cup, the glass clear rather than frosted so the lamp inside shows straight through as a bright coil. The tint is a cool grey that mirrors at the shoulder and greys whatever is behind it. The base is a plain turned black cylinder with a softly rounded edge, no wider than the glass above it. There is no flex on show from the front. The ball is generous in size and reads as a sphere resting on a plinth. It measures 18cm across.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one.

The holder is E27 and takes up to 60W. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

An E27 lamp up to 60W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
