Description

DC is a table lamp in dark green. A dark green sphere held on a short oak strap at the top of a slim green post, the strap pinned through with a brass boss so the head swings and tilts. The sphere is open at its lower face and lined in white, so the mouth reads bright against the matt green outside. A black flex arches over from the top of the post into the head. The post rises from a low round green disc base with a small control on its face. The green is a deep matt teal. It measures 35cm tall, in metal and wood.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one.

The LED is built in at 2.5W, so there is no bulb to buy and none to fit. It has 3 brightness settings, changed by switching off at the wall and straight back on, so no dimmer is needed. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms. It carries an F energy label. It runs on a 4000mAh battery and charges in about 6-7 hours, so it can be carried from room to room.

Frequently Asked

Do I need to buy a bulb?

No. The LED is built into the fitting, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to fit.

What happens when the LED fails?

The fitting is replaced rather than relamped. At 2.5W and normal domestic use that is many years away.

How do I change the brightness?

Switch off at the wall and straight back on. Each flick moves it to the next setting. No dimmer is needed.

Will it work on a dimmer?

It does not need one, and it should not be fitted to one. Brightness is controlled from the wall switch instead.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
