Description

This is the frame only. The glass shades are not included. What you receive is the ceiling plate, the suspensions and the integrated LED modules, ready to take Andromeda glass. We sell the shades separately: round lamp shade 13cm in copper, round lamp shade 13cm in chrome, round lamp shade 13cm in clear, lamp shade 12cm in copper, lamp shade 12cm in chrome, lamp shade 12cm in clear.

A long, low rectangle hung on slim suspensions, with eight small integrated LED modules set into the frame so the light comes from along its length rather than one central point. It measures 50 x 30cm, which gives a broad band of gentle light and a shape that sits quietly against a ceiling. The output is a fixed warm white, closer to candle warmth than daylight, and the driver is built in. It is not a dimming fitting, so it is happiest on a plain switch.

We reach for this one over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the rectangle follows the line of the surface below and a round pendant would leave the two ends underlit. It also works well down the middle of a hallway or above a long console. The drop is adjustable across a generous span, from sitting close under the ceiling to hanging properly low over a table, so it can be set for a tall room or a standard one without looking compromised. As a source of ambient light it is even and unfussy, and it suits modern rooms where the ceiling is meant to stay uncluttered.

The finish is light gold, warm and soft rather than brassy, and it is the finish we would choose against pale plaster, walnut or a stone worktop. Keep a dry duster to it every so often and leave polishes, sprays and kitchen degreasers well alone, as the surface is better off untouched. It is wired and earthed for dry indoor rooms, so it belongs in the kitchen or dining room and not in a shower room or a porch.
