Description
The Zoom is a 60mm round recessed LED downlight with a 6W integrated LED module producing 3000K warm white light at CRI 90. The white powder-coated aluminium body sits flush to the ceiling surface when recessed into a 60mm ceiling void, with spring clips holding the unit against the plasterboard or timber substrate.
Rated IP65, the Zoom is sealed against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2, shower rooms, outdoor soffits under eaves, and kitchen splashback areas where steam and moisture are present. The CRI 90 rating ensures that colours under this light appear accurate and natural, which matters in bathrooms where makeup is applied and in kitchens where food is prepared.
The 60mm diameter and 60mm depth allow the Zoom to fit into standard UK residential ceiling voids without needing additional joist clearance. The aluminium construction dissipates heat through a ribbed black heatsink on the rear, keeping the LED junction temperature within operating limits and extending the diode lifespan. The white finish on the front bezel blends into white ceilings, leaving only the light aperture visible once installed.
Operating on 220-240V AC mains, the Zoom requires no external driver or transformer — the LED driver is integrated into the rear housing. The 6W output suits accent lighting, task lighting over sinks and worktops, and low-level ambient lighting in hallways, WCs and utility rooms where full-brightness downlights would be excessive.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in a bathroom?
Yes. The IP65 rating provides full protection against water jets and dust, making it suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2. This includes positions directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure, provided it is installed to Part P Building Regulations standards.
What ceiling void depth is needed?
The Zoom requires a minimum 60mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the rear housing and integrated driver. The ribbed black heatsink extends approximately 50mm above the ceiling line once recessed, so ensure joists or ceiling structure allow this clearance.
Is it dimmable?
Maytoni integrated LED downlights are not typically dimmable unless explicitly stated. The Zoom operates at fixed 6W output on 220-240V mains. For dimming capability, check with Niori before purchase or consider a different model in the Maytoni range.
How is the downlight fitted?
The Zoom uses spring clips that compress when the unit is pushed into a 60mm cut-out in the ceiling, then expand behind the plasterboard or substrate to hold the downlight in place. Mains connection is made via a terminal block on the rear housing before the unit is clipped into position.
