Zoom 12W LED Dimmable Recessed Downlight 4000K IP65 - White

The Zoom is an 85mm recessed LED downlight with an integrated 12W LED module producing 4000K cool white light at CRI90. The white aluminium bezel and trim ring fit a recessed ceiling cut-out, with the LED driver and heatsink assembly mounted above the ceiling line. The IP65 rating protects against water jets and dust ingress, making the fitting suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms, outdoor soffits and covered entrances where moisture is present.

Designed for task lighting and general illumination in residential, commercial and hospitality installations, the 4000K colour temperature provides neutral white light that enhances colour accuracy in kitchens, bathrooms, retail displays and workspaces. The 12W output delivers approximately 960-1000 lumens depending on driver efficiency, which is comparable to a 75-80W halogen downlight. Can this be installed in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP65 rating makes the Zoom suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2, which includes installation within or directly above a bath or shower enclosure up to 2.25m height. It can also be used in zone 0 (inside the bath or shower tray) if specified by a qualified electrician, though most domestic installations use zone 1 or 2 placement.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

Approximately 100mm of ceiling void depth is required to accommodate the LED driver, heatsink assembly and wiring connections above the ceiling line. The 85mm bezel diameter requires an 80mm ceiling cut-out.

Is it compatible with dimmer switches?

The Zoom is dimmable and works with most trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers designed for LED loads. Performance varies depending on the dimmer model — consult the dimmer manufacturer's compatibility list or test before finalising installation across multiple fittings.

What is the difference between 3000K and 4000K?

4000K produces a neutral cool white light similar to daylight, which enhances task visibility and colour accuracy. 3000K produces a warmer, more yellow-toned light closer to traditional halogen. For bathrooms, kitchens and workspaces, 4000K is typically preferred. For living rooms and bedrooms, 3000K is more common.
