Description

The Ziggy is a single-light wall fitting combining a white opal glass cylinder shade with a lacquered silver geometric metal surround on a black rectangular backplate. The opal glass diffuses light evenly around the bulb, while the metal lattice casts shadow patterns across surrounding walls when lit. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and carries an IP44 rating for splash protection.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways, bedrooms and landings where wall-mounted accent lighting is needed, the Ziggy provides both ambient and decorative function. The IP44 rating allows installation within Zone 2 of a bathroom (outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure but within the room itself), making it suitable as mirror lighting or general bathroom illumination. The 60W maximum bulb rating gives flexibility to choose LED or halogen bulbs depending on the brightness level needed.

The lacquered silver finish on the geometric metalwork creates a metallic accent without the high reflectivity of polished chrome, softening glare under daylight. The black backplate provides contrast behind the silver lattice and hides the wiring entry point on the wall. The opal glass shade measures approximately 100mm in diameter and 200mm in height, giving the fitting a compact vertical presence that works in narrow hallway sections and beside bathroom mirrors without dominating the wall.

Yes. The Ziggy carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for Zone 2 bathroom installation (outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure). It should not be installed within Zone 0 or Zone 1, which are inside or directly above the bath or shower tray.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bathroom or hallway use.

Can it be mounted on a plasterboard wall?

Yes, provided the backplate is fixed to a suitable wall mounting point (timber stud, masonry wall plug or plasterboard toggle) capable of supporting the weight of the fitting. The black backplate covers the fixing points once installed.

What is the projection from the wall?

The fitting projects approximately 120mm from the wall at its furthest point (the front face of the opal glass shade). This allows clearance for E27 bulbs and keeps the shade away from the wall surface to prevent heat buildup.
