Description

The Zelda is a single-light wall fitting built around a vertical column of three graduated vintage brass spheres, mounted on a circular backplate and supporting a tapered etched glass shade. The metal spheres sit one above the other on a central rod, decreasing in size as they rise, with the top sphere cradling the glass shade in a polished brass cup. The shade itself is etched on the interior surface to diffuse light evenly when the E27 bulb inside is lit.

Designed for hallways, landings, and living room alcoves where wall-mounted task or ambient lighting is needed, the Zelda projects 146mm from the wall and stands 298mm tall. The arm holding the shade extends at a right angle from the sphere column, creating a balanced silhouette that works in pairs flanking a mirror or doorway, or as a single accent next to artwork. The vintage brass finish shows a warm golden tone with subtle tonal variation that softens over time.

The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or decorative filament bulbs depending on the light quality and brightness needed. The etched glass diffuses direct glare from the bulb while maintaining enough transparency to show the bulb shape when fitted with a visible-filament LED. The backplate diameter of approximately 140mm provides a stable mounting point on plasterboard or solid walls.

What bulb does it take?

The Zelda takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K, or a decorative squirrel-cage filament LED where the bulb will be visible through the etched glass.

Is the glass replaceable if damaged?

The etched glass shade is a separate component that can be replaced. Contact Hinkley or Niori for replacement parts if the shade is broken during installation or cleaning.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Zelda carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It should not be installed in bathrooms or other wet or damp environments where moisture could affect the fitting.

What wall fixing is needed?

The backplate mounts to a standard UK wall box or directly to plasterboard using appropriate wall plugs and screws. The fitting weighs approximately 1-1.5kg, so ensure the wall fixings are rated to support this load on the specific wall type.
