Description

The Zaragoza is a 5-light chandelier built around a brass-plated metal frame with black accents on the arms and stem. Five white fabric shades with PVC bases sit on extended arms radiating from a central hub, each housing an E14 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately). The 78cm diameter and 49cm drop before chain adjustment make this a centrepiece fitting for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher.

The brass plating covers the main frame, ceiling canopy and arm sections, while the vertical stem and sections of each arm are finished in matt black to create visual definition between the metal elements and the fabric shades. The white fabric shades diffuse light evenly downwards and outwards, reducing glare while still providing sufficient ambient light for a 12-16m² dining or living space. The E14 fittings accept candle-style LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 40W each.

The frame is rated IP20, limiting it to dry indoor use only — it cannot be installed in bathrooms or outdoor covered areas. The 78cm spread requires a ceiling area of at least 1m diameter to avoid the shade edges sitting too close to walls or furniture. The brass plating has a low-sheen satin finish rather than a high-polish mirror finish, which keeps reflections subtle under daylight and pairs well with both warm wood tones and cooler grey interiors.

The chandelier ships with chain and ceiling rose components for adjustable drop installation. The minimum drop of 50.5cm from ceiling to the base of the shades allows the fitting to sit comfortably 60-70cm above a dining table in rooms with 2.4m ceilings, or higher in rooms with taller ceilings where chain can be added.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Zaragoza to dry indoor rooms only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs or sinks, or covered outdoor areas where moisture is present.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop is 50.5cm from ceiling to the base of the shades. For a dining table installation the chandelier typically sits 60-70cm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. Additional chain can be added in taller rooms.

How is the brass finish maintained?

The satin brass plating can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal and do not use brass polish or chemical cleaners on plated finishes as they can strip the coating.
