The frame itself is constructed from square-section metal stock shaped into four vertical ribs that bow outward at the midpoint and meet at a decorative arched canopy at the top, creating a tapered lantern profile approximately 514mm wide and 772mm tall.

Designed for entrance halls, dining rooms and staircases with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Yarmouth provides ambient light from six separate bulb positions without a shade or diffuser, so the choice of bulb determines the quality and colour of light. The adjustable drop ranges from 870mm to 2435mm on installation, set by shortening the chain against the 1524mm of supplied chain length, allowing the fitting to work in rooms with standard ceiling heights (870mm drop for a 2.4m ceiling) or double-height hallways (full 2435mm drop for 4-5m ceiling spaces).

The painted aged brass finish sits between antique brass and polished brass in tone — the paint layer gives the metal a matte surface with deliberate tonal variation that suggests age and wear without the reflective shine of polished brass or the deep oxidation of antique brass. The four-rib cage structure keeps the overall weight relatively low while maintaining visual presence in larger rooms. Each of the six E14 sockets accepts bulbs up to 60W, with most installations using 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K) to replicate the traditional lantern aesthetic the frame references.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 870mm works in standard 2.4-2.7m ceiling height rooms. For higher ceilings, the chain can be extended or left at full length, giving a maximum drop of 2435mm — suitable for double-height hallways and staircases up to 4-5m ceiling height.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set on installation by adjusting the chain length. Once the chandelier is wired and the excess chain secured inside the ceiling canopy, changing the drop requires removing the fitting and re-threading the chain — it is not adjustable from below.

What size room does the 514mm width suit?

At just over half a metre wide, the Yarmouth works comfortably above a dining table for 4-6 people, in hallways 1.5m wide or above, and in living rooms or entrance halls where the ceiling rose is at least 1m from the nearest wall. In smaller spaces the cage frame can feel visually dominant.
