Description

The XLED is an E14 LED bulb in the classic C35 candle shape, drawing 4.5W to produce 470 lumens of warm white light at 2700K. Its small Edison screw cap fits standard E14 fittings used across the UK, while shoppers in the US will know this size as the candelabra base, where the local E12 equivalent serves the same chandelier and sconce role. A wide 320 degree beam spreads light almost all the way around the bulb, suiting it to open, exposed-lamp fixtures where the candle form is meant to be seen. With 104 lm/W efficiency it replaces a much higher-wattage incandescent candle while running far cooler.

The XLED works best in fittings that show the bulb off, such as chandeliers, candelabra-style ceiling lights, wall brackets and decorative table or floor lamps. The 2700K warm white tone gives a soft, cosy light that flatters living rooms, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms rather than task spaces. At 470 lumens a single bulb adds a gentle pool of accent light, so several are usually grouped on a multi-arm fitting to build up the level in a room.
