The Wyldmere is a table lamp with a domed shade painted in gold and bronze, standing 450mm tall on a 350mm diameter. The dome sends most of its light downward onto the surface below, which makes it useful where you want a pool of light rather than an evenly lit room. It takes a single 10W E27 LED lamp and is dimmable, so the level can be set to match the time of evening. The body is metal throughout and it weighs 3kg, heavy enough to stay put on a sideboard without needing to be pushed back against a wall.

We would put the Wyldmere on a bedside table, a hall console, a desk, or at either end of a sideboard where a pair reads better than one. Being dimmable matters here, because fitted with a compatible dimmable lamp the same fitting can be bright enough to read by and then wound right down later on. Gold and bronze together give a warm, slightly aged look that sits comfortably with wood, leather and darker paint, and stops the lamp feeling too polished. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, so keep it away from bathrooms and sinks.

The dome and base are metal with a painted finish, so treat the surface as paint rather than plated metal.
