Description

The Worbette is a round LED flush ceiling light that sits close to the ceiling, 28cm in diameter and just 6.5cm deep. Its black steel body frames a white plastic diffuser, and a gold-coloured band runs around the side, so the fitting reads as a crisp black circle from below with a flash of gold from across the room. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 10W and giving 1,100lm of light at 3000K, a warm white. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

Because it sits close to the ceiling, it suits rooms where a hanging light would feel too low: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a study with a modest ceiling height. The 28cm size is comfortable for a smaller room or a corridor, and the black and gold pairing sits well beside dark metal shelving, black window frames or brass-toned accessories. The white diffuser softens the integrated LEDs into an even glow across the room, giving general light that is easy on the eyes. There is no switch on the fitting itself; it is switched at the wall, as most ceiling lights are.

The light is not dimmable, so it is best chosen for a room where one steady level of light is what you want. It runs on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and as a wired-in ceiling light it should be installed by a qualified electrician; the installation instructions come as a PDF download.
