Description

The Wonenne is a four-light linear pendant for the ceiling: four black wire cages, each wrapped round a cylinder of amber vaporised glass, hang in a row from a long black bar. The body is steel in black with bronzed lampholders, so the warm metal at the top of each shade picks up the amber of the glass. It measures 130cm long, 16.5cm wide and 110cm high overall. Each of the four lampholders takes an E27 bulb up to 40W, and the bulbs are not included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for dry rooms indoors.

We think its length makes it a natural choice over a dining table or a kitchen island, where a row of four lights spreads along the whole surface rather than pooling in the middle. The black cages and amber glass suit an industrial or loft-style room with dark metal, timber and exposed brick, and they hold their own in a plainer scheme that needs a focal point. With clear filament bulbs the amber glass gives a warm, honey-coloured glow that flatters a long evening meal. It is switched at the wall, so there is no pull cord or switch on the fitting itself.

Steel is strong and rigid, which suits a long bar carrying four shades. The open wire lets light through on every side, while the amber glass inside warms and softens it.
