Wistcombe Large 3 Light Tiffany Semi Flush - Multicoloured

The Wistcombe large semi-flush is a three light ceiling fitting for rooms that cannot take a hanging pendant. The Tiffany-style shade measures 490mm across, built from cut pieces of multicoloured glass leaded into a metal frame, and it sits close to the ceiling with a total projection of 315mm. Three E27 GLS bulbs up to 60W each make it bright enough to be the only light in a room. It weighs 2.2kg, which is light for its width, and bulbs are supplied separately.

At 490mm this is a generous semi-flush, wide enough to hold its own in a larger bedroom, a dining room, a hallway or a landing. The shallow 315mm projection keeps it clear of head height in a corridor and works under beams or a sloping ceiling where a long drop is out of the question. It is dimmable, so you can run it bright for getting ready and low at night. The glass gives a plain ceiling something worth looking at, and we find it suits period houses and traditional interiors.

The shade is put together by hand, piece by piece, so the pattern varies slightly between fittings and small differences are part of the making. The frame and ceiling plate are finished in a warm tone that keeps the glass to the front. Dust with a dry soft cloth and use a barely damp cloth for marks, avoiding sprays and solvents near the leaded seams.
