Description

The Windsor is a 4-light chandelier built around a crown-inspired metal frame in a matt graphite finish, with four upward-curving arms radiating from a central column. Each arm terminates in an E14 candle-style bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately). The frame combines decorative scrollwork with a functional cage structure that echoes medieval crown motifs, hand-built in the UK by Elstead Lighting.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Windsor provides ambient decorative light rather than high-output task illumination. The 352mm diameter suits tables of 1200-1600mm length or entrance halls of 2.5-3.5m width. The adjustable drop ranges from 652mm to 2156mm, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or higher in double-height hallways.

The graphite finish is a low-sheen dark grey that reads almost black under artificial light but retains a subtle warmth under daylight, differentiating it from true matt black finishes. The scrollwork and curved arms are hand-formed rather than cast, giving slight variation between individual pieces. The metalwork is steel rather than aluminium, providing structural integrity for the 508mm height without excessive weight.

The chandelier has four E14 (small Edison screw) sockets, each rated for up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient dining light.

Is the drop adjustable on installation?

Yes. The chain and cable allow adjustment between 652mm and 2156mm drop during fitting. The chain can be shortened or lengthened to suit the room height and intended hanging position.

Is this chandelier dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulbs fitted and the dimmer switch used. LED bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible dimmer. Halogen and filament bulbs are inherently dimmable with standard trailing-edge dimmers.
