The Willowmere medium table lamp is 560mm tall with a 400mm multicoloured Tiffany-style leaded glass shade on a metal base. Two 60W E27 GLS bulbs sit beneath the shade, which is what lifts it above a single-bulb lamp of the same size for output, and bulbs are supplied separately. The shade is assembled from individually cut panels joined with lead, so the colour is in the material and the pattern holds in daylight. It weighs 3.1kg. This is a Class 1 fitting with an earthed lead.

Twin bulbs and a 400mm shade make this a working lamp rather than a soft glow in the corner. Put it on a sideboard, a console or a wide bedside table, and allow around half a metre of clear surface for the shade. At 560mm the light lands at seated eye level in a living room, which is where coloured glass looks best. It suits period rooms, dark paint and panelled walls, and it pairs well with a second lamp on the other side of a room to even out the light.

Base and hardware are metal, the shade is leaded glass, and the two are joined so the glass carries no load. Lift by the base. Dust with a dry soft cloth, and use a barely damp cloth for marks, drying immediately so the lead does not sit wet. Keep solvents, polishes and abrasive creams away from the shade.
