The Willowmere medium pendant carries a 350mm multicoloured Tiffany-style leaded glass shade on a metal suspension, with a drop that adjusts from 410mm to 1280mm. A single 60W E27 GLS bulb lights it and bulbs are supplied separately. At 350mm it is the neat size in this shape: enough glass to be seen, not so much that it fills a small room. Panels are cut and leaded individually, so the pattern reads unlit as well as lit. It weighs 2.1kg and is Class 2, double insulated, needing no earth.

This is the pendant to hang where the room is ordinary sized and the ceiling is not especially high. It works over a small dining table, a breakfast bar, a hall or a bedroom, and the short minimum drop of 410mm suits ceilings around 2.3 metres. Over a table, leave roughly 750mm to 900mm of clearance above the surface. A single bulb gives ambient light, warm and coloured, so pair it with a lamp or spots where you need to read, chop or work.

A metal frame holds the leaded glass and the flex can be shortened at installation to fix the height. Dust the shade with a dry soft cloth; for marks a barely damp cloth followed by a dry one is enough, and the lead lines should not be left wet. Avoid solvents, ammonia-based sprays and abrasive creams. Rated IP20, it is for dry indoor rooms. A dimmable bulb with a compatible dimmer gives you the evening level.
