Description

This artificial orchid brings the trailing form of a Vanda into your home without any of the fuss that comes with keeping a real one alive. The white blooms open along arching stems, each petal shaped with soft veining and a gentle curl at the edges so they catch the light much like the genuine plant. Set into a ceramic pot, the whole piece stands 68cm tall with a spread of 75cm, giving it enough presence to hold its own on a sideboard or console.

The leaves are moulded from plastic with a waxy sheen and subtle ridging down the centre, sitting low around the base while the flower spikes rise and lean outward. It works well in a hallway, a bright living room corner or a bathroom where a live orchid might struggle. Because the stems have a little flex, you can nudge them into a shape that suits the spot, opening the arrangement out or drawing it in against a wall.

Being a faux orchid, it needs no water, no feeding and no repotting, so it looks the same in winter as it does in summer. There is nothing to prune and no dropped petals to sweep up. A light dust every so often keeps the blooms and leaves looking fresh. The ceramic pot is ready to use straight away, and the plant can be lifted out and moved between rooms whenever you fancy a change.
