Description
The West End is a 420mm diameter Tiffany-style flush ceiling light built from hand-assembled stained glass panels set in a vintage bronze metal frame. Each panel of amber, red and cream glass is joined using the traditional copper foil technique, forming a radiating geometric pattern across the shallow dome. The fitting takes two E27 bulbs (sold separately) behind the glass, which diffuses the light through the coloured panes.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3-2.7m where a traditional pendant would hang too low, the West End's 148mm profile sits close to the ceiling while still providing decorative interest. The fitting suits living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways in period properties, arts and crafts interiors, and contemporary spaces that need a traditional accent. The vintage bronze finish on the metalwork gives a darker, aged tone compared to polished brass or antique brass, pairing with walnut furniture and deeper wall colours.
The stained glass work follows the Tiffany method developed in the late 1800s: individual glass pieces are cut, edges wrapped in copper foil, then soldered together to form the complete shade. This construction means each fitting shows slight variation in glass tone and solder line placement compared to factory-pressed alternatives. The combined glass and metal frame gives the fitting a solid presence without the weight of a full Tiffany pendant, and the shallow dome shape spreads light across a wider ceiling area than a single central bulb would achieve.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs at 6-8W and 2700K to complement the amber and red glass tones.
Is it suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The 148mm height makes it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights from 2.3m upwards, where a pendant light would hang too low or feel visually heavy.
How is the glass cleaned?
Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth while the fitting is switched off and cool. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable on the glass surface. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the fitting as liquid can seep into the solder joints.
Does each fitting look identical?
No. The hand-assembled copper foil method means each West End flush shows slight variation in glass tone, solder line placement and individual pane colour compared to other pieces in the same batch. This is characteristic of traditional Tiffany-style work, not a defect.
