Description

The Welland is a 245mm diameter flush ceiling light with a polished brass rim and an integrated 12W 3000K LED behind an opal acrylic diffuser. At just 48mm projection from the ceiling, the fitting sits close to the surface, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.4m where a pendant or semi-flush would intrude into headroom. The IP54 rating protects against splashed water and dust ingress, allowing the fitting to be used in bathroom zones 2 and 3, corridors, shower rooms and utility spaces.

The flush-mount installation fixes directly to a ceiling rose or junction box using three screws concealed behind the diffuser, with the brass rim sitting tight to the ceiling plane once fitted. The 12W LED provides approximately 960 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, which gives even ambient illumination across a 3-4m² bathroom, hallway or cloakroom without creating shadows or glare. The opal diffuser softens the LED source and spreads light evenly rather than casting a centre-bright hotspot.

The polished brass finish on the metal rim provides a warm metallic accent that works in both traditional bathrooms with period fixtures and in contemporary spaces using warm-toned metallics. The high-gloss polish reflects surrounding light and complements brass taps, heated towel rails and mirror frames. The acrylic diffuser is removable for cleaning and the LED module is non-replaceable — rated for approximately 25,000 hours of operation, equivalent to 15-20 years under typical domestic use patterns.

Can the Welland be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP54 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers areas more than 600mm from the bath or shower enclosure. It is not rated for zone 1 (directly above a bath or inside a shower cubicle) or zone 0 (inside the bath or shower tray itself).

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 12W LED module is integrated and non-replaceable. The module is rated for approximately 25,000 hours, which equates to 15-20 years of typical domestic use at 3-4 hours per day.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 48mm projection makes the Welland suitable for low ceilings from 2.2m upwards. It provides headroom clearance in spaces where a deeper semi-flush or pendant fitting would feel intrusive.

How is the diffuser cleaned?
