Description

The Welland is a 245mm diameter flush ceiling light with an integrated 12W LED behind an opal polished plastic diffuser, set in a polished chrome rim. The fitting projects just 48mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m where a pendant or semi-flush would hang too low.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways, cloakrooms and en-suites, the Welland carries an IP54 rating allowing it to be installed in bathroom zone 2 where moisture and water spray are present. The integrated LED produces 3000K warm white light distributed evenly across the diffuser face, with no visible hot spots or shadow rings. The chrome rim is a solid metal component rather than a plated plastic surround, giving the fitting a secure mount to the ceiling.

The 12W LED module is non-replaceable but rated for 25,000+ hours of use, equivalent to around 10-12 years of typical domestic bathroom use at 6 hours per day. The polished chrome finish pairs cleanly with chrome taps, towel rails and shaver sockets in contemporary and traditional bathrooms. The opal diffuser softens the light output to reduce glare when the fitting is mounted at typical ceiling heights of 2.4-2.7m above head height.

Frequently Asked

Can the Welland be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP54 rating means the fitting is protected against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for bathroom zone 2. It cannot be installed directly above a bath or shower cubicle (zone 1) but works in the wider bathroom area.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 12W LED module is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced. The LED is rated for 25,000+ hours of use, which equates to approximately 10-12 years of typical domestic bathroom use at 6 hours per day.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 48mm projection makes the Welland suitable for any standard UK ceiling height, but it is particularly useful in rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m where a pendant or deeper semi-flush fitting would hang too low or feel visually intrusive.

Is it dimmable?

The specification table does not list dimmer compatibility. If dimming is required, contact us before ordering to confirm whether this specific LED module supports dimmer switches.
