Description

The Welland is a 361mm diameter flush ceiling light with a polished brass rim and an integrated 25W 3000K LED behind a white opal plastic diffuser. The entire fitting sits just 40mm below the ceiling, making it one of the lowest-profile ceiling lights in the Elstead range and suitable for rooms with ceiling heights under 2.2m where a semi-flush or pendant would hang too low.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways, cloakrooms and utility rooms, the Welland carries an IP54 rating that protects against moisture ingress from steam and splashing, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. The integrated LED produces 25W output at 3000K warm white, providing general ambient light across a 3-4m square room without needing a separate bulb. The polished brass finish pairs with traditional brass taps, door handles and bathroom fittings, while the stepped rim detail gives the fitting a classical profile rather than a flat disc appearance.

The white opal diffuser spreads light evenly across the ceiling and into the room, avoiding the hard hotspot that clear or prismatic diffusers create. The polished brass rim reflects and amplifies the light output, adding warmth to the colour tone. The fitting mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose or junction box with a back plate concealed behind the brass rim, and the diffuser is held in place with two brass screws that can be removed for cleaning. For commercial applications, the Welland can be specified with an emergency module that provides maintained or non-maintained backup lighting during power cuts.

Can the Welland be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP54 rating protects against moisture from steam and splashing, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. It should not be installed directly above a bath or shower (zone 1) unless the manufacturer specifies a higher IP rating for that application.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED module is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for 25,000+ hours of operation, which translates to approximately 15-20 years of typical domestic use before noticeable light degradation.
