Description

The Welland is a 361mm diameter LED flush ceiling light with an aged brass metal rim and an opal acrylic diffuser, projecting just 40mm from the ceiling once fitted. An integrated 25W 3000K LED module sits behind the diffuser, casting warm white light across the room without any visible bulb or fitting detail. The IP54 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, kitchens and other spaces where moisture or steam is present.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.5m where a pendant or semi-flush would hang too low, the Welland provides general ambient light without occupying visual or physical ceiling space. The 361mm diameter suits bathrooms of 4-8m², hallways, landings, and box rooms. The flush mount fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose or wiring point using two visible fixing screws on the aged brass rim.

The aged brass finish has a soft, lightly oxidised appearance that complements period, traditional and transitional interiors without the high reflectivity of polished brass. The opal acrylic diffuser hides the LED array from view and distributes light evenly across the room rather than creating a bright central spot. At 25W the light output is equivalent to approximately 150-200W of traditional incandescent lighting, providing sufficient general illumination for most domestic spaces.

Can this be fitted in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP54 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making the Welland suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. It cannot be fitted directly above a shower or bath (zone 1) unless the specific installation meets zone 1 requirements, which this fitting does not.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED module is integrated and not user-replaceable. LED modules typically last 20,000-30,000 hours (approximately 10-15 years of domestic use at 5 hours per day). If the LED fails within the 2-year warranty period, Elstead Lighting will replace the fitting.

The 361mm diameter and 25W output suit rooms of approximately 4-8m² as the primary light source. This covers most standard UK bathrooms, cloakrooms, small hallways and box rooms. Larger spaces may benefit from two Welland fittings or supplementary task lighting.

How is the aged brass finish maintained?

Aged brass is a treated finish designed to show a lightly oxidised patina. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid brass polishes or abrasive cleaners, which will strip the aged finish and return the metal to a polished state.
