Description

The Kichler Waverly is a single-bulb wall light with a curved brushed nickel arm and a clear seeded glass shade with visible air bubbles trapped in the glass. The shade measures approximately 175mm wide and 292mm tall, housing an E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately). The brushed nickel finish has a low-sheen surface that softens reflections and sits comfortably between polished chrome and satin nickel on the tonal scale.

Designed for hallways, bathrooms, beside beds and flanking mirrors, the Waverly projects 235mm from the wall on its curved arm, providing clearance above a washbasin or bedside table without overwhelming narrow spaces. The seeded glass diffuses the bulb's light while still allowing the filament shape to show through, making it suitable for pairing with decorative LED filament bulbs. The circular backplate measures approximately 120mm in diameter and mounts to a standard wall box or solid substrate.

The seeded glass texture creates a subtle stippled pattern in the light throw, breaking up harsh shadows and giving a softer ambient effect than clear glass. The combined metal and glass construction weighs approximately 0.8kg, light enough for typical plasterboard mounting with appropriate fixings. The brushed nickel pairs well with chrome taps, stainless steel appliances and cooler-toned interiors, while also working alongside warmer brass or copper accents where a mixed-metal scheme is in use.

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2700K for bathrooms and hallways, or a decorative globe or squirrel-cage filament where the bulb is visible through the seeded glass.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

The Waverly does not carry an IP rating, so it should be installed outside bathroom zones requiring splash protection (typically Zone 0, 1 and 2). It suits positions above 2.25m from the bath or shower tray, or in areas of the bathroom outside the defined zones, such as above a vanity mirror away from direct water contact.

What is seeded glass?

Seeded glass contains small air bubbles deliberately trapped in the molten glass during manufacture, creating a textured, vintage-industrial appearance. The bubbles diffuse light slightly and create visual depth, while still allowing the bulb shape to show through.

Can it be installed upside-down?

The curved arm design is intended for standard upright mounting with the shade hanging downwards. While mechanically possible to invert, the proportions and visual balance are designed for the configuration shown in the product image.
